The arcade racers worth keeping on your phone

Arcade racers live or die on feel, and on mobile that means controls you can trust without looking. We've been testing a stack of them and the good ones share a few habits.

The best ones make drifting the whole point. Neon Drift Rush is our current favorite because chaining corners fills a boost meter that turns a good lap into a great one. That loop is what keeps you replaying tracks.

Watch out for forced tilt steering. It looks fun in trailers but eats your battery and gets tiring fast. The racers we kept all offer button steering as a proper option.

Short race lengths matter too. A ninety-second race that you can slot into a bus ride beats a five-minute circuit you can't finish before your stop.

Start with one or two, learn their handling, and you'll feel the difference between a real racer and a reskinned timer immediately.
