Small settings that save your battery while gaming
Nothing kills a good session like a dying phone. Over years of testing we've picked up a few easy habits that stretch playtime a lot.
Turn off tilt controls when a game offers buttons instead. Constant gyro use is one of the sneakiest battery drains in racers.
Drop the frame rate cap if the game lets you. Sixty frames looks nice but thirty is plenty for most casual and strategy titles, and it runs cooler.
Lower your screen brightness and mute background music you're not listening to. Small things, but they stack up across an hour of play.
None of this makes the games worse. It just means you get a second lap instead of a low-battery warning.
